I'm inspired by a whole range of stuff and nonsense from Hindu gods, plastic toys,my friends cats, years of working in agriculture, Celtic knotwork , my travels to India,Japan and north America. In a sense ,40 years of ambling about still looking and seeking brings me to this point in time. 

Candy & Fags is the sometime home to my creative side.   I don't work that often, mainly on a Thursday evening .

Spirit of Senegal is run by Ela & Sara Seydi, and we are based in Bristol, UK. We buy all our products directly from artists, producers and traders in Senegal, with whom we have come to mutually agreed prices. 

At present in Senegal, the tourism industry is facing a slump, which greatly affects the lives of these artists and traders. You can be assured that if you buy something from us, these people will be benefiting directly from your purchases.


Ela and Sara also spend time crafting their own artwork inspired by Senegal.

I have recently finished a fashion and textiles course where I have been focusing mainly on crochet and knit.

I make costumes, hats, fascinators, bigger art and installation pieces and other fun oddities to enjoy or for possible purchase.

Clichéd I know but...I love creativity & take inspiration from every thing I see! I'm a complete magpie & totally taken by anything that sparkles - I particularly love tourmaline & spinel!

I saw, file, polish & solder every piece of jewellery using traditional silversmithing tools & techniques to achieve beautiful results. No casting or mass production so you really are buying something very special. Ring settings can be mounted on a band for skinny stacking and wide band modern settings or set down into the band for a more traditional look.

I hope you get the same immense pleasure from my pieces that I get from creating them! 

Rough Sunflower is run by Chrissy and Bez, two beach bums that love to go beachcombing. 

They create jewellery and home/garden décor from lovely bits and bobs found on beaches all around the UK and Thailand. All driftwood items are made by Bez and the Jewelry is generally made by Chrissy.

As well as beachy items, Rough Sunflower also make a range of feather earrings made from feathers found on long walks around the UK. All materials are ethically sourced and look as nature intended!

I am passionate about design, clothing, textiles and our amazing planet. All my creations are made in Bristol based studio powered partly by renewable energy. In my upcycled creations I use only damaged clothing (which I expertly repair or avoid the the damaged area), and reclaimed/recycled materials. Each raw material is scrutinised, planned and utilised to create as little waste as possible. Off-cuts are used in other creations and when eventually my scraps can get no smaller, they are used for stuffing or recycled.

My prices reflect the love, time and effort that has been given to the creation to ensure a minimum wage so that I can continue to practice in an environmentally sustainable way.

All of my jewellery is created using traditional silversmithing techniques and nothing more technically advanced than a small hand held clamp! I make each piece from scratch by hand to create something entirely unique for you. Ethical considerations and impact on the environment are at the heart of my jewellery.   

All gold is from recycled and sustainable sources, the precious and semi-precious gemstones I use are from suppliers that guarantee that they are ethically mined and conflict free and nothing goes to waste in the workshop with all metal leftover from the making process being recycled.
